Shipment threads
Every shipment has an activity thread combining system events, user comments, and file attachments. Threads replace scattered email chains with context that stays attached to the shipment record.
- @mention teammates to request action or visibility
- Pin critical messages to the shipment header
- Attach screenshots, carrier emails, or broker PDFs
- Filter thread by comments only or include system events
Email bridge
Forward customer emails to the shipment-specific address to append them to the thread automatically.
Tasks and assignments
Create tasks from exceptions, document rejections, or manual requests. Tasks carry due dates, assignees, and linkage to the parent shipment. Overdue tasks surface in personal inboxes and manager dashboards.
| Source | Auto-created | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Exception | Yes | Resolve customs hold |
| Document validation | Yes | Upload corrected invoice |
| Manual | No | Confirm delivery appointment |
| Customer portal | Yes | Approve draft B/L |
External collaboration
Invite external users—customs brokers, consignees, or carrier agents—to specific shipments via secure links. External collaborators see only assigned shipments and permitted fields.
External users do not count toward internal seat licenses but are subject to collaboration tier limits on concurrent external guests.
Team notifications
Configure notification preferences per user: instant, digest, or muted by event type. Integrate with Slack and Microsoft Teams to post milestone updates and @mentions to channel workflows.
Quiet hours
Users set quiet hours to suppress non-critical notifications outside local business hours. SLA breaches and escalations still break through.
Shift handoffs
Shift handoff summaries aggregate open exceptions, tasks due today, and high-risk shipments for the incoming team. Export or pin handoff notes at branch level for 24/7 operations centers.
